wp770c2a3c_0f.jpg Jacqui has been involved with horses for over 40 years, and teaching professionally since 1983. She was an active horse project 4-H member from age 8 to 18. Jacqui grew up riding western and has experience with a variety of breeds and disciplines. In her junior year of high school Jacqui worked at a local Standardbred stable and received her groom's license at Foxboro racetrack. After graduating in 1977 she worked for a year at a hunter/jumper stable, then accepted a position in New York managing a private Egyptian Arabian breeding farm. Wishing to expand her equine education, Jacqui attended William Woods University, receiving her equine proficiency certification in 1982. While a student at William Woods, Jacqui was selected as part of the 4 member dressage show team. Dressage became her focus and she continued to study under some of the top instructors in the country including:

  • Working student position with two time dressage Olympian Lendon Gray
  • 3 years with Dressage Institute founder and noted judge Janet Black
  • 8 years with US World Cup finalist and national champion Tom Noone
  • 3 years with classical dressage master Dominique Barbier

wpa3bf4c60_0f.jpg Jacqui has also ridden in numerous clinics with professionals such as former Spanish Riding School headmaster Karl Mikolka, dressage Olympian Dorothy Morkis, grand prix rider and Hanoverian breeder Vern Batchelder, to name a few. Jacqui has competed successfully through 2nd level, winning numerous regional year end awards at training, first and second level. She was selected by NEDA in 1996 to receive a scholarship to further her education as an instructor. Jacqui has also been involved in the judge's training program under international dressage judge Edgar Hotz. Her desire to develop a keener relationship and understanding of the horse led Jacqui to participate in clinics with progressive trainers Harry Whitney and Kenny Harlow.  A firm believer that "you never stop learning" Jacqui currently trains with nationally renowned horsemanship clinician Lee Smith and classical dressage/ horsemanship guru Mark Russell. Jacqui utilizes her 13 years of veterinary technician experience and previous employment managing a large dressage training facility in the day to day running of Satucket Hill Stable.
